Arne Hjeltnes

Creuna, where I work as a senior consultant, has got a new boss. The new man on top is the TV personality Arne Hjeltnes.

I don't know if we'll be seeing much of him in the technology department, but I think it will be fun having him onboard.

Børre Dalhaugs Big Band Blast

Jan Ditlev Hansen has a weekly jazz program every Friday on NRK P2 at 10:05 pm called Rundt Midnatt - inspired by Thelonious Monk's jazz ballade Round Midnight (Rundt Midnight is the norwegian translation for Round Midnight).

Jan Ditlev has played tracks from my big band record before. This time the tune Moving On was broadcasted. This is a song I like very much, specially due to the nice solo performances by Kåre Nymark Jr. and Atle Nymo.

Frank Zappa

I am conducting a project with Prime Time Big Band at the time. We are prepearing for a concert with music by Frank Zappa, mostly arranged by the sweedish trombone player Niclas Rydh who plays the bass trombone with Bohuslän Big Band.

Frank Zappa's music is very fun and is filled with lovely time changes and lots of rhytmical challanges :-) My favourites are Zomby Woof, Sinister Footwear and St. Alphonzo's Pancake Breakfast.

The concert is at Musikkflekken in Sandvika friday May 23rd at 8 in the evening.
